I have the MSI B150 Gaming M3 motherboard(https://us.msi.com/Motherboard/B150-GAMING-M3.html) and I've installed the Samsung 970 EVO SSD, but it isn't showing up in either the Bios or Disk Management. I've updated my bios to the 7978vBC. Am I missing something??

You motherboard does not support that type of m.2 drive.
-----------------------------
• 1 x M.2 slot
- Supports SATA 6Gb/s standards, 4.2cm/ 6cm/ 8cm length M.2 SSD cards
-----------------------------

m.2 SATA only. The 970 will not work on that motherboard.

NVMe SSDs do not appear within the BIOS until Windows creates the system partition with the EFI Boot Sector. Your M.2 SSD contains UEFI driver information within the firmware. By disabling the CSM module Windows will read and utilize the M.2-specific UEFI driver.

That motherboard you have does not support PCIe NVMe storage M.2 drives.
It does support:
• M.2 6Gb/s+ SATA 6Gb/s

Yes, but for what use? Your motherboard may not be able to boot from that drive in that adapter.
As a secondary drive, sure.
