Hello,

I've recently added a Samsung 970 EVO M.2 NMVe, 1TB SSD to my PC, but I can't find it in Disk Management to format it.
My Gigabyte B660M GAMING DDR4 (rev. 1.0) Motherboard sees in the BIOS, and Device Manager also detecs the SSD. MB BIOS version is F4.

The SSD is installed in the PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2 Connector that is next to my Intel i3-121200 CPU.

The SSD in question is added to my system to an already formatted and partition combo of a WD 1B HDD and a Samsung 850 EVO 250GB.

What am I doing wrong and/or missing?

Check windows storage spaces (Control Panel/Storage Spaces).
If the drive appears there, remove it from storage pool and delete the pool.

If still cant find it, then show screenshots from
Disk Management,
Device Manager - disk drives and storage controllers sections expanded,
Windows Storage Spaces.

Hi! Thank you for repying. Here are the requested screenshots:

- Disk Management , Drive C and Drive E are the Samsung 850 250GB SSD; Drive D is the 1 TB HDD

The 970 SSD was not part of any pool nor were there any pools created, although Windows does see it if I would want to add it to one.

Check BIOS for sata controller mode.
Should be set to AHCI (not Intel RST).
Turn Intel RST off, if it is enabled.

BTW - I think , you're not showing entire Disk Management window.
There are probably more drives, if you scroll down.
God, yes! I didn't see the scroll bar. That is embaressing.

Thank you! That sorted it out!

I've been sitting the entire day with this <Mod Edit>, and just now realized I missed the scroll bar as well. That was the most annoying <Mod Edit>I've ever encountered. I've been into BIOS, restarted computer probably 20 times, screwed on and off the M.2 chip probably 6 times, had to remove battery from BIOS since computer went into BIOS as I was starting it every time. God damn, then I read this post, thinking all hope was lost. I was like "how can bro miss a scroll bar" and then I went to disk management and realized I missed it as well. <Mod Edit>
