[SOLVED] M.2 SSD slots. PCIe 4.0. ASUS TUF GAMING Z590 PLUS WIFI

If I install my old Samsung 960 EVO M.2 SSD into the PCIe 4.0 compatible M.2 slot, will it work?
I know the 960 EVO is not PCIe 4.0, but will it work in the PCIe 4.0 slot?

Or should I install it in the M.2_2 slot?

I am using the Intel i5-11400 cpu, so that cpu is compatible with PCIe 4.0 M.2 SSD's. Therefore the M.2_1 slot will be ENABLED

All 4.0 ports are backward compatible, so yes, it should work without problems.
