I have been trying to install a WD Blue SN550 NVMe SSD to my asus PRIME B360M-K Motherboard. It is not showing up in the BIOS or disk management.
I'm stating to think that either the SSD isn't compatible with the motherboard, or the SSD is faulty. Any other ideas on how to troubleshoot would be great, or if you can point me to something that definitively shows if the SSD is/is not compatible that would also be appreciated

Solution
You're on the first BIOS for that board. There are 14 BIOS update after the one you use.

One of the BIOS update could have the "Compatibility update" you're looking for to use that SSD.

I would download
Version 3202
2021/08/05 8.44 MBytes

And flash your BIOS to the latest version.

Hi quico.medeiros.

What is your full system specs including the PSU?

What other drives do you have in that system and in which SATA port are they plugged in?

What BIOS version are you running at the moment?

CPU : i5-8400
GPU: RX 970
MOBA: PRIME B360M-K
PSU : CS 550M

I'm using 3 more disks:
1TB hdd - sata 3 port
250 G hdd - sata 4 port
120 SSD - sata 2 port

BIOS version: American Megatrends Inc. 0229, 26/02/2018

I checked and if you were using a SATA M.2 the SATA port 2 would have been deactivated but the SN550 is a NVME so that port is still working fine.

It's probably your BIOS that needs to be updated. That board should support a Western Digital SN550.

I just did the update!
I checked the BIOS on something called nvme configuration and my SN550 appeared there, but when started windows and opened the disk management it still dosen't show....
Any more ideias on why is still not working?
I appreciate your patience with me 😀

Any ideia on how to solve this problem?

Can you elaborate the purpose of the NVMe SSD? If it's for the OS, you're better off setting the BIOS to CSM-Disabled then armed with a bootable USB installer for the OS, reinstall the OS onto the WD Blue NVMe drive. If it's for a game library, did you install Intel's RST drivers?

Hi,

I have an old 120Gb SDD that I use as :\C and it needs to be substituted for this new NVMe SSD.
It wil have both OS and 1 or 2 games.
The problem is that the SSD is not showing up in my disk management

*1 When a device in SATA mode is installed on the M.2 socket, SATA_2 port cannot be used

Their should be a BIOS setting to switch that M.2 slot from SATA mode to PCI-E, if you can't find it don't use SATA 2 slot, EDIT you might still need to find the PCI-E mode since it's a NVME drive.
