M.2 SSDs and SATA?

Hi, im looking to build a brand new pc soon and I'm wondering if any M.2 SSD will beat any SATA 6GB SSD in speed/performance. Thanks.

M.2 SATA SSDs won't be any faster than 2.5" form factor SATA3 SSDs.

M.2 PCIe SSDs, on the other hand, are not limited by a SATA controller so they have much higher potential performance depending upon how many PCIe lanes and PCIe version that the M.2 socket is allowed to use.

what ko888 said - thesamsung SM951 and soon to release 950 PRO PCIe SSDs will run 4-5x faster than a sata SSD
