Hello, I currently have an ASUS p8z68-v lx motherboard, and found a great deal on a Samsung 1TB M.2 SSD (MZ-N6E1T0BW). The motherboard doesn't have an M.2 slot and i was going to purchase an adapter.

My question is: Will i be able to use it as a boot drive with an adapter, and which adapter should I get: pcie or SATA?

Thank you!

If you don't already have an SSD in this, just get a regular 2.5" SATA SSD for it.
I'd be shocked if you noticed the...

I'd be shocked if you noticed the difference. If you could actually boot from an NVMe drive, which you can't.

About the oldest Intel boards you can enable for that would be the Z97's. And even that is iffy.
