OCZ utility shows 85c as being unsafe, however mine idles at 58c and under stress tests will easily reach upper 70's. Are there common cooling solutions?

This is indeed a bit high for a storage device. From what I see in that drive's spec sheet, its operating temperature ranges from 0 °C to 70 °C. If I were you, I'd backup my important data as soon as possible and check the drive with its manufacturer's diagnostic tool. You should also get in touch with the vendor you got it from and try to RMA it, if it's still under warranty.
