I have a custom built Desktop in which I'm wanting to upgrade to a 2TB M.2 WD Blue SSD as my bootable drive. My current Bootable is a WD 1TB drive. My question is what would be the best course of action as far as cloning my current boot drive tot he SSD and if it's possible to set up a RAID between the two where if the SSD ever crashes, the original boot drive will still function as if nothing happened? I'm still quite amateurish at PC building so I want to ensure that I do everything properly. I have a MSI H370 Gaming Pro Carbon MOBO. If there is any further information I can provide, let me know. thank you for the help!

Your MB has two M.2 slots, so what's the problem ? Just plug it in and use it. Forget about RAID, it's not practicable in this case. You would loose 1TB and probably speed, forget it.
Another question is why do you want to clone it, that Blue drive is likely slower than your 1TB ?
Best course for backup is to get an external HDD of same size as those two M.2s and use a program like Macrium Reflect https://www.macrium.com/reflectfree, backup both SSDs to it or one at a time and keep it away from system when not in use.
