Hi, all,
Does anyone have an x399 MEG Creation with 2 graphics cards & M.2 drives installed in the bays under the graphics cards? If so, any issues with overheating of the M.2 drives?
I'm changing out my old HDDs because they are slowly dying 1 by 1. I'd like to free up air flow space in the case by transitioning from HDDs to M.2 drives. The build is updated every 2 or more years as my needs change and HW dies. With 1 death recently of my 6 and 10 year old HDDs, it's time for them to go.
My usage is video and photo editing, working with complex CAD files, and because I'm impatient I stream video while I wait for editing/processing/redraws to finish.
Am trying to decide if I should remove the old Radeon HD7950 and use the MSI M.2 expander for new M.2s, or if it'll be fine to keep 2 graphics cards and stick the M.2s into the 3 slots on the MB. The way the x399 was laid out, 2 double slot graphics cards and the M.2 double slot expander card won't all fit.
I'll free up PCIe slots by removing old I/F cards, and am considering adding a NIC to get to 10Gbps. Anyone have a favorite?
Thoughts?
