I have a old dell xps m1730 laptop I’m upgrading and tinkering around with just for fun and kicks I’m upgrading the gpu from a 8700m 256mb single gpu to a 8800m gtx sli 1gb dual card (yes I know vram doesn’t stack nor do I give a care) and I believe it has a t8300 c2d @ 2.4ghz but is this laptop (and cooling system) able to handle gpu overclocking and cpu overclocking??? And does the cpu have turbo boost???? I’m probably gonna have it professionally overclocked or at least have someone who knows what they are doing (ie not me) overclock it by the way

Heads up the layout of the cooler for the 8700m version and 8800m sli version is completly different so it seems. So you can't put the 8800 in there.

I would be suprised if it even could oc. Even in gaming laptops the bios is restricted. Another thing to consider is the powerbrick. These are usually operating at max capacity in gaming laptops so pushing them might not be the best idea. Cooling wise the core 2 + 8700m should be fine with a mild oc.
Just remember you CANNOT put the 8800m sli in there.

You mean to tell me THIS won’t work with my laptop ?!?!https://www.ebay.com/itm/OEM-Dell-XPS-M1730-1GB-nVidia-GeForce-8800M-GTX-SLI-Video-Card-86CR5-Tested/401195844443

This part is FOR dell xps m1730!!!

Since that one does have the cooler on it it should be fine. Just make sure you have the correct powerbrick as this laptop came with a high wattage and lower wattage version.
