Hey guys,

I recently got a Samsung 850 EVO 250GB M.2 and I'm trying to run it as my primary drive.
It's currently installed in my laptop, and I ran the Samsung Migration Software to move my entire HDD to the SSD (roughly 80GB). There were no problems with this process, it finished migrating and then it asked me to shut down my laptop.
When I open my BIOS, the software seemed to automatically change it to AHCI already. I then went in myself to change the boot order. The BIOS recognizes the SSD.
After noticing no difference in boot time, I check my disk management and my SSD is in Disk 0, along with my HDD. It says "Healthy (EFI System Partition)" but when I right-click it, all the options are greyed out. My HDD is still the C: drive.
I would prefer to migrate it rather than do a clean install.

Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

That error is likely because the Samsung Migration coned the drive. You can't run your programs off that other drive anyway when changing the OS to another...

When I removed my hard drive and boot it, it works. Boots up and the M2 becomes my C drive. I tried saving a picture to test it. When I put my hard drive back in, no luck. Disk management looks exactly the same as my pictures posted, and my test picture disappeared.
Do you think I need to wipe my hdd? I still have the OS and other files on it.

Update: I noticed my ssd is "offline" when my hdd is in and it says it has a "signature collision with another online disk"

That error is likely because the Samsung Migration coned the drive. You can't run your programs off that other drive anyway when changing the OS to another drive, and since you already cloned the drive over to the other one, just make sure all your files are on the new drive, then you can wipe that second drive and re-use it for backup/storage. You would need to not just delete the files, but delete the partition in the drive, and create a new one.
