All I need is to upgrade the ram what would you guys recommend, Im gonna go with win 7 want all of the 8 gigs gonna go dual channel.
Btw running the latest bios

I have the exact same board.

Why don't you try the following for a cheap upgrade?

1. Add a better card. I have managed to get a 6770 and a 5670 to work on mine.
2. As you can only put in DDR2 Ram why don't you put in a solid state drive? Put in a 60 GB for Win7 and applications. It will be smooth like butter. boot up will be faster and applications will be more responsive.

What are you planning to use it for? That's the main thing. Also which country are you from?? And how much of a budget do you have? Is your Philips full HD?????

Ahh I forgot to mention

To be honest I dont want to go with a SSD the
F3 Spin drive is a work horse I hate SSDs cause they need to be trimed constantly and I dont trust their reliability lol and I use this PC 24/7 tested watching a BD movie with VLC was extracting an ISO file and surfing the net and not even one hiccup. CPU threads reached a max of 50% but this board/AMD Phenom II X4 3 GHz Processor 125W Hauls ass

Well this is my Media HDPC
The Philips tvs are 1080P LEDs 120 Hertz
I got the ATI Radeon Gigabyte DH 5450 to go full hd
and to take advantage of the two HDMI ports

I Can watch movies on one tv and surf the net on the other
also I have a g15 keyboard connected by the desk and and 3-in-1 Rii Mini Wireless Keyboard Tiny Wireless Keyboard 2.4GHz Multimedia Handheld Keyboard with Built-in Touchpad is used on the couch for a true media experiance

a 25 Foot 1.3a hdmi cable running to one of the Philips tvs and the other I use to surf the net and work

M2A-VM BIOS 5001 Is the current bios on this system but I want to finish it already was looking at this ram

Looking at the manual this board supports 2.1 V to the ram

Well DDR2 is not really so cheap anymore. But you can put in tons of Ram. And yes I cant find anything faster. It wont make much of a difference because I notice you are not using a lot of ram intensive programs.

Hey I can actually imagine so many things with that screen of yours.

For starters I am trying to imagine Warhammer Space marines on your screen....EPIC!!!!!!

You should try your hand at some casual gaming. It would be worth it!!!!

And trust me the SSD does make a big difference. I was using a kingston hyperx and I saw a nice difference in performance. They are pretty reliable as well. I had set up 2 HDD's in a RAID1 array and the SSD for the OS.
