Hi this is my first post so it's probably all messed up, I bought a new CPU for my motherboard (M2N68-LA), I think its a phenom quad too so I hope that this post is relevant enough not to need a new thread, because I have the same mobo and maybe CPU but mine does not work. Before I bought it i researched it and it fits and everything seemed great but the bios says that it isn't supported at boot so I'm trying to update it using AFUDOS but i keep getting an error that the ROM i'm trying to use isn't valid but I got it off of their site??? Anyway I'm confused if anyone can spare me an minute I would appreciate it alot. I'm not sure if there's a private message function here, but I would email and chat with anyone willing to help me out.

Thanks,
Dan

What is the exact processor you are trying to use?
Can you post a link to where you found the BIOS file that fails to install?

Yes I apologize I should have included more information it's an AMD Phenom II Quad-Core black edition CPU X4 3.0GHz HDZ940XCJ4DGI that I got on ebay. The seller seems legit so I don't see why it would be the chip itself. The computer is a compaq CQ4010f that I got from my inlaws and I'm trying to soup it up for my sons. I can't remember the message but when I get time later tonight I try again and post an update. Hopefully that helps, until then I can update to the best of my knowledge, I think the message was CPU not supported by this motherboard, so I assume it's running an outdated version. Worst case I will but a new mobo I guess but it seems like it should be a simple fix for a genius out there...

Yeah that was my thought too. I had trouble finding my computer model on HP's site so I checked on asus for updates to the specific motherboard. I tried the last three from asus' site and none worked the error was basically bad file when i tried to flash it. My next thought was to look for an hp with the same motherboard and look for drivers that way. I'll keep you updated, thank you for your help so far.
