M5A97 EVO R2.0 motherboard wont recognise the graphics card?

hi,
I have just had a new M5A97 EVO R2.0 motherboard installed, with an 8 core FX 8120 Zambizi 3.1 chip, 16 GB Corsair ram, Zalaman Cooler with a GeForce 2GB GT640 graphics card on Windows 8.1 system.
After it was built (Yesterday) it was fine, updated everything including 3 8.1 updates, i even spent 2 hours on Far Cry 4.
when i went to turn it on this morning it all fired up properly, but nothing but a blank screen?? i even tried using a backup screen but still nothing!? can anyone help please?

I'm having a very similar issue. I'll post it here in case we are having the same problem, otherwise, I'm sorry, I'll create a different thread.

M5A97 R2.0
FX-8320
2X4GB Gskill Sniper
Sapphire R7 250
XFX TS 550w (PSU)
I get the first short sound and then a second later the long one followed by three short ones, meaning no VGA detected. I tried removing the R7 250 and I get the same sound.

I've read several threads on this site and I tried all sorts of stuff.

1) I replaced the R7 250 with a 7600GT and it works.
2) I tested the R7 250 in two other computers, one with a Coolermaster Silent 600W PSU and the other one with a generic 550W PSU, the R7 250 worked in both. So the card actually works.
3) I tried replacing the XFX TS 550w with the Coolermaster Silent 600W in the M5A97 R2.0 and the R7 250 works.

Ok, so I thought it was the XFX PSU that was failing. But no, it wasn't

4) I tried the XFX TS 550w on
Phenom x4 965
Biostar TA 790GX AM3+
2x2GB OCZ Gold
XFX 5870

The system worked just fine, I played Skyrim for a few minutes and even overclocking the 5870 the 12v line on the XFX TS 550w didn't drop below 12.22v. No issues at all.

5) I tried the XFX TS 550w on
Phenom x4 965
Biostar TA 790GX AM3+
2x2GB OCZ Gold
Sapphire R7 250

And it worked. So I know it's not a faulty PSU nor a faulty video card.

I checked the BIOS version on the M5A97 R2.0 and it has the latest available version.

The only thing I can think of is that the Coolermaster Silent 600w somehow delivers more power directly to the motherboard through the main connector than the XFX TS 550w. Maybe the R7 250 is not getting enough power in the M5A97 R2.0 and it is getting more power in the Biostar TA 790GX (the only reason I can think of is that the TA 790GX has a molex socket for additional power to the motherboard while the M5A97 R2.0 doesn't.

Any clues?
