m5a97 r2.0 AM3+ is compatible with AM3 socket?

I wonder to know if the Asus m5a97 r2.0 (socket AM3+) is compatible with a AMD Phenom II X4 955 (which is AM3 socket)

Or if anyone can suggest a motherboard how is compatible with my CPU.
