Hi!

I just bought a new PC but I have a problem with the gpu or mobo, don't know wich one is the problem or if it is the PSU (550w generic). It doesn't give video signal and the gpu fan stops 3 seconds after I turn on the pc.

Everything works, i tried them separately. My Gpu with another mobo and it works. I also put my gpu with another mobo and worked (with a generic 600w PSU). I tried with my mobo and GPU and an Antec certified PSU (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371048), but the GPU fan also stopped.

The components are:
Mobo: Asus M5A97 r 2.0
GPU: Sapphire r7 250 1 gb ddr5
CPU: FX-8320 X8 3,5 GHz (AM3+)
RAM: KVR 4GB 1600MHZ DDR3 CL10 DIMM HYPERX FURY BLUE SE
HDD: WD® HDD 500GB Sata3 7200 rpm 16MB Blue
generic 550w PSU, maybe that is the problem

Do you know what could be the problem? and Could you recommend me a good PSU for a tight budget?

Thanks!!

I can't find that one in my country (Chile)

Do you recommend this one? : EVGA 500W 80 PLUS

Ok, It's me again. I tried everything, BIOS update, new certified PSU, etc and nothing worked. I will use an old GPU until I can buy a new one.

The worst case that the old PSU make your GPU dies.

The gpu still works in another PC?

Did you try a minimum configuration?
Just one ram stick, cpu+ cooler, psu, gpu
Nothing else,
Try Ram stick in all slots

Psu plugged into atx12v connector of the motherboard completely? 8 Pins Not just 4 Pins

Reset Bios by jumper

Which bios version is now on the board?

ThE r7 250 still works un other computers. And pc is also working with others GPU even a newer one

Yes, it is still working on another pc
And i also did everything you said, so it is probably a problem of compatibility.
