m5a97 r2.0 post then blank.. beeps

I am receiving 1 long beep followed by 4 short beeps. I purchased a corsair h100i cpu water cooler. I got home and removed my old cpu stock cooler, cleaned the old thermal from the cpu and then proceeded to install my new cooler. Got it all setup and back together, all cleared inspection. No loose cords. I then booted and received the 1 long beep and 4 short beeps. I then proceeded to remove piece by piece, long story short I stripped the board to bare minimals, removed it from the case to test for shorts.. and have not had any success. Swapped video slots for my 270x. Tested another 270x I own. Swapped ram sticks in and out. Removed them all completely like I said and still received this code. My computer teacher has informed me that he thinks this may be my mobo gone bad? I'm not sure where to go from here. I also replaced the stock cooler back as an fyi. Hardware is:

Asus m5a97 r2.0 mobo

corsair 1600mhz ram

amd 8350 black edition processor

R9 270x

Corsair 80b 500w psu

1tb hdd

250 ssd

Stock cooler switch to corsair h100i was the only switch I made today. Any advice is greatly appreciated!
