Sorry if some one stumbles upon this thread and have seen my others but I'm just in need of help to get what I'm looking for. I currently upgraded from a Asrock 970 Pro 3 to a Asus M5A99FX R2.0 and 1333MHz to 1600MHz Ram so that I can get better performance on my GHz. I currently have the FX-8320 3.5GHz Stock and Ive reached 4.0GHz OC on the other board and ram. Now on the new stuff this is what I got listed below however my temps are reaching 50-51 Degrees Celcius and 120 Degrees F. Can some one point out what I did wrong and how to fix it.

Okay I reset to default settings...

Running @ 3.50GHz
Volts are between 0.888v and 1.404v on CPU-Z
Temps are 24C 75F
Temps with Prime running are 39C 102F on CPU & 22C 72F Core# 1 - 8
Fan Speeds on the H100 are @ 100% 5 Fan count

I have 5 fans total in my rig but I think only the H100 fans are running at 100%
Everytime I restart the computer they run at 100% I cant figure out how to lower the speed on them. I do use the program speed fan to put them around 50%-65%. What should they be at anyway and can you tell me how to get the speeds from 100%

Well I got the fans hooked to the Corsair Link so the fans dropped speed im guessing to 50% and I swapped my fans on the bottom of radiator because I had them blowing down on top of the radiator so now its blowing out of case

Do i try it at 4.0GHz with the same settings and all ? and at 1.38v

^ if that's at 4ghz those temps are fairly normal IMO.
If that voltage is stock you could probably get it down a bit.
The h100i is not that good a cooler for an 8 core fx.

Btw - you should leave cool & quiet & c1e states enabled in bios.

Just c6 states disabled, turbo disabled ,hpc mode enabled.

Leave everything else alone until you've hit your limit at stock voltage.

Im not sure if its because its cold in my house but I lowered the volts from cpu/NB from 1.20 to 1.18

temps from prime 95 test are

So I think im making good progress. I have it at 4.42Ghz as of right now. Here is what I got from prime 95

^ that's a good chip mate - my 8320 is very very similar - 4.4ghz at 1.388v.
Be prepared for going higher - what I've always seen is 4.5ghz & above pulls a fairly big voltage increase.
I stuck at 4.4 on mine for everyday use as the temps & power draw past that point weren't worth it IMO.

Well right now I'm @ 4.42GHz temps are
CPU 60 °C (140 °F)
CPU #1 / Core #1 42 °C (108 °F)
CPU #1 / Core #2 42 °C (108 °F)
CPU #1 / Core #3 42 °C (108 °F)
CPU #1 / Core #4 42 °C (108 °F)
CPU #1 / Core #5 42 °C (108 °F)
CPU #1 / Core #6 42 °C (108 °F)
CPU #1 / Core #7 42 °C (108 °F)
CPU #1 / Core #8 42 °C (108 °F)
CPU Core 1.392 V
+3.3 V 3.264 V
+5 V 5.014 V
+12 V 11.995 V
VDDA 2.520 V
GPU Core 0.950 V
GPU VRM 0.950 V

Maybe you could help me getting it higher and stable. At least 4.6 or 4.7 I could settle for 4.5 also

Hey I checked on overclockers.com for any other solutions just for extra safety and what not and one guy said that my CPU normally stops at 4.4GHz on this board due to it getting hot can any one correct me on this.

Prime 95 is probably too hard on stress testing CPUs. For Intel only v 26.6 is recommended. Other people use OCCT.

"Well right now I'm @ 4.42GHz temps are
CPU 60 °C (140 °F)
CPU #1 / Core #1 42 °C (108 °F)"

How are you measuring these.Usually Core temp i higher than CPU temp by 5C. But AMD temp sensors usually provide a 'margin temp' figure - distance from Tjmax (I think 80C for your CPU)
