I have a PC Chips M863 v5.1C motherboard. I purchased an AMD Athlon XP 3000+ processor, and when it boots the BIOS tells me that it ias a 1800+. I've just flased the bios with what PC Chips had as there latest version. It still tells me that it is an 1800+

Is this set aas a jumper on the motherboard or a BIOS setting? I have not found a jumper on the motherboard, other than the clear CMOS jumper. I have noticed something like that in the BIOS under CPU settings.

Pc chips motherboards did used to use jumpers on the board to change the cpu/ and memory front side bus.
The good news is !. you can indeed set the fsb speed in the bios, and you dont have to move any jumpers around.

so if you set your memory to 166Mhz and your Cpu to 166Mhz it should report from the bios as a xp 3000 +

Hope it helped you.
