[SOLVED] Mac internet/mail problem

Without any previous problems/changes/new installations of the sort, I cannot access any thing on either of my browsers: Firefox or Safari; AND i cannot recieve or send mail from my e-mail accounts on Thunderbird or Entourage.
BUT I can Skype and I can access the ftp-server (send and download files) at my job as usual.
Can there suddenly be som DNS problem come up out of the blue?
Hope some one has an idea of what I should do--and
the company supplying my internet connection does not support Mac!

Try using ping to troubleshoot a potential DNS issue. Use the Terninal program from the Utilities and execute the following commands to see what response you get:
ping google.com
ping microsoft.com

You should see if it can resolve the domain name into an IP address.
