I'm not new to to building computers and such but i've never really had to build a computer for speed for anyone but lately i've been trying to speed up my mac to maximum without killing it. I have the Mac mini Mid 2011 added a dual drive kit and put the 500GB drive as the secondary and a 120GB SSD as the boot drive.

Here are the specs:
OSX Yosemite
Version: 10.10.2

Mac Mini Mid 2011
Processor: 2.3ghz Intel Core i5
Memory: 5gb 1333 mhz DDR3
Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 3000 384 MB
Displays: (2) 20 Inch (1600 x 900) displays made by Insignia

What my issue is, is that the SSD's have 450mb write 450mb read and thats the max of course. While I'm not looking to get to the max i would like to get as close as possible. I ran a speed test running black magic speed test and here are the results and also here is the link to the SSD I have installed. SSD
The write speeds seem to be a little low to me but maybe I'm wrong.

Solution
Your Mac Mini will need Sata III to get the full speed of your SSD. I suspect it only has Sata II. Check the specs.

It would also be worth trying alternative disc speed testers for comparison - Aja have one free to download for example.

Well done for getting that gear in a Mac Mini....
