[SOLVED] Mac OS X Bootcamp Win7

Hello,

i'm planning to get a new macbookpro, only had pc-s before. When i install Win7 with bootcamp on my mac, is it possible to install later Win programs to a different path than the bootcamp Win7 partition on my mac hdd, for example on an external usb hdd.

I have MacBook Pro 13" Model and I installed Windows 7 64-Bit Ultimate Edition. And when I plugged in my external HDD and jump drive I am able to move and copy files on them. Now I have never tried installing a program on an external HDD. I hope it help a little.

yup, thanks, i ll get parallels desktop for mac, it really does have some cool feature

Don't waste money on parallels, there are free virtual machine apps that are just as good. If I were you, I'd get VirtualBox which can be found here

i got myself a 17" mbp with 4GB ram, the 8GB upgrade s overpriced, maybe i ll upgrade later diy, cos of just 4Gigs i decidet to run win just from bootcamp, so not to share 4Gigs in virtual mode. thanks to all for the help

If you use bootcamp then any external drive just works when connected to the usb ports, just like on any real pc, in parallel theres an option to use usb devices in the parallel windowed app.
