This is a thread designed to facilitate discussion about how we, the Tom's Hardware Mac OS X community can improve the Mac experience of those who seek the knowledge of our forums, similar in concept to the Linux section improvement thread.

Being a relatively new forum, we can cover a wide range of commonly asked topics with user written stickies, much like the other questions, to stop people from asking the same questions again and again. So, what topics you would like covered or stickied?

AFG.

1) A thread for beginner Mac users explaining about compatibility w/ standard hardware (mice, external drives) - I've seen a lot of users being afraid that their extHDD won't work with a Mac while there's nothing different to expect.

2) A thread dedicated to running Windows on Mac (aka BootCamp) - again, I've seen quite a few users asking various questions about this.

3) Hackintosh thread - I'm not sure what the official forum rules say about this, since it's technically breaking the EULA... but if it can be done, I think many people will appreciate it.

4) Ban musical marv :kaola:

1. I can add to my NTFS sticky when I get the time

2. Probably link to an Apple support file when I get the time

3. Discuss in Hackintosh help thread. See if I care. :p

4. No ;)

How about a thread for Mac Proffessionals/Apple IT certified?

I know there are a ton of sites out there but why not generate some more traffic?

opinions on OS changes, functionality of certain services offered on either the server/client, employment, maybe idea for improvement in the server line, tweaks for LDAP, mail and other services, and security issues are what I had in mind. I'm sure their may be others who have some ideas as well

I doubt we attract such an audience to begin with.

Those people tend to live in specialist Mac forums to begin with.

Though you can bring this up with the admin jpishgar if you wish.

Just want to say hello. I'm new to these forums, though I've been a computer user for 30+ years, most of them on a Mac. Looking forward to contributing and hopefully helping others out with their questions (and maybe learn a thing or two while I'm at it).

Who made you in charge? I propose we have democratic election of moderators for this section. You cannot be moderator of this section because you are a Windows and Linux using infidel. You wouldn't know anything about the rich culture of design of Macintoshes. I suggest that only Mac users can moderate this forum.

One of the biggest changes I believe Mac should do is for their new macbook pro's. Their prices start from 2 grand that needs to be changed. Apple products seem to getting more and more expensive.
