[SOLVED] Mac Pro 2,1 Processor Compatability Question

I received a pair of Intel Xeon X5472 3GHz Quad-Core Processor LGA 771 for a Mac Pro 3,1 BUT BUT BUT I was wondering this:

Can I put these into a MacPro 2,1 with the same LGA 771 socket?
If not, Why not?

I'm just trying to understand the processor sockets and why these newer ones with same sockets are not compatible...

The answer I come up with is no it won't work. Apple never updated the Mac Pro 1,1 or 2,1 EFI microcode for Harpertown Xeons.

Oh, so its a EFI issue. Well, i guess ill put them in the 3,1. Thank you sir!
