Hello! I have a Seagate 1tb usb hard drive that I use for my mac, as time machine, and as storage of extra files. I tried to use it to transfer my iTunes library contents from my mac to the Windows 8 PC I just built. When I plugged it into the PC, I couldn't get it to read it, so I have up. But now when I plug it back into my mac

And if I click initialize

The drive contains months of backups, as well as important large video files that aren't stored in other locations, if there's anything that could help, please tell me. Thank you!

So, you have risked "months of backups and important video files" (your only copy) to try something as stupid as "transfer iTunes library" you did not know how it will end?
ANd you clicked on "Initialize..." without knowing what will happen?

What you did on the Windows computer when you first plugged it in? Were you able to copy anything onto or off that drive?

Nope, couldn't open it at all, but it did register as a device
And it seemed safe enough, the time machine backups were just one folder on it, and the drive isn't OS specific
