MacBook and the App Store

I was just wondering if I ever decided to buy a MacBook would I have access to all the apps in the Apple app store, like if I purchased an iPad? Or are some of those apps only for the iPad/iPhone?

The App Store carries apps for MacOS devices (eg a MacBook) and apps for iOS devices (eg iPhone & iPad) but they are not interchangeable.

Additionally, some apps are available for iOS devices only.
