Question Macbook M2

Hi, the question I have is on my windows 10 PC when I have a list of AVI files the icon shows a pictorial 'look' at
the file content of the media. I am new to Mac operation and I can see 'QuickTime' is the default for video files. I
have read how each file can be manually altered to show a picture, but is there a program format to replicate
the windows type? Hope to get a reply. Many thanks in anticipation of any advice..

It's very simple, download VLC. It plays just about every format I've seen, and is compatible with Windows, Mac, and Linux.

I have found this software for windows and it works perfectly for windows. Called 'Icaros' it displays the content of a file within the icon. Any Mac software that is an equivalent? Thanks.
