I‘m a recent apple convert - Iphone, Ipad Pro, etc. For work and vlogging I do a lot of video editing - using things like Camtasia, Adobe Premiere, Doodley, and the like. I also use green screen for most of my video. I’d really like to move into the Apple Ecosystem for convenience, if nothing else. While I realize that I could stay in the Windows environment and save a lot of money to comparable (if not better) power, I really would lime to go all in on Apple. Do you think for editing mostly short videos (10 minutes or less), a MacBook Pro 2019 model with 1TB of SSD and 16 GB Ram is enough?

My main concerns are the rumors of the new 13 inc models with better Intel processors possibly being announced later this month as well as the rumored switch to ARM processors next year. Do you think waiting makes sense? With the advent of the possible switch to ARM, I’m worried about OS incompatibility issues and/or Apple us setting older models more quickly. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks so much!

If you do end up waiting, you will need to wait until reviews come out for said versions of the MacBook. Sometimes hype was all there was and sometimes, they were worth every bit of money dropped.

OS incompatibility might not happen afterall it's the Mac ecosystem and I'm sure that the recent hardware will not be phased out(from OS and app support).

If you're moving to a 13" I'd get Final cut because the 13" doesn't have a dedicated GPU and FC plays nicer with that than premiere does.

1TB depends on what else you're doing and the res you're footage is in and what you're exporting to. Would advise on getting an external SSD and a decent TB3 hub anyway so you can move stuff around.

I have the 16" pro and am happy with it. I don't see next gen intel chips getting a crazy performance boost and ARM could be happening or might not we don't know.
