[SOLVED] MacBook Pro (2008-2009) won't boot

My gradpa owns a mac book pro 15" and the mac will start but the loading bar goes almost to the end and the mac just shuts off. If i plug it to wall the loading wont end but it doesn't shut off. My grandpa doesn't know the year this mac was made. And we can't see it from the system info because the mac won't boot.

Try holding the shift key while booting. To see if it goes into safe mode.

If that doesn't work. Try booting into recovery mode (Command - Option - R) when booting.

Since someone mentioned recovery mode, would try that. and safe mode. Check the back of the Mac and find the S/N. It will tell you the model of the computer maybe.
