macbook pro (2015) out of application memory issues and the fix

hello mac gurus. my client has a 2015 macbook that keeps popping up the "out of application memory" window. what is the workflow steps to repair this? can i just reinstall high sierra?

Unfortunately, I think these forums are mostly for Windows gurus… How much memory is being used when the error appears? Seems like that would be the issue based on the error.
