MacBook Pro 2016 backlight bleed? need reassurance

Hello guys,

so I previously returned my MacBook Pro 2016 for a bad yellow tint and it had quite bad backlight bleed, I got a replacement and maybe this is me being paranoid and having an OCD but I took some pictures I know there is a slight light bleed in top left hand corner but:

1. is this backlight bleed?
2. if it is if you had this laptop would you be happy with it?

I play alot of movies in the dark so maybe I'm overthinking

I think you are seeing what's known as "IPS glow". It's a slight glow at some viewing angles that IPS screens exhibit, totally normal my Macbook looks exactly the same. Even if there is some bleed (it's not evident in the pictures) I wouldn't be concerned, even the best LCD screen, IPS or otherwise will show some bleed on a black background with the backlight at 100%.

thanks guys, yes in real life its much less, I think I'm being picky, ill just believe its not backlight bleed, its much much better than my last MacBook pro!

so its an ips glow I guess

Just the 2016 Macbook, the one everyone hates lol. Being a diehard PC guy I admit I'm rather pleased with it, wonderful screen, excellent trackpad and it fits in my camera bag.

well if your happy with yours and you said mine looks like your screen I'm happy too, the one I had before this was very bad, I guess we both got good batches then, ill take your word for it mate

That's actually a really nice screen. There's a diagonal dark splotch just outside the lower right corner, another just outside the upper left corner (which is probably why you think the upper left corner has bleed), a dark spot in the top half of the right edge, and a smaller one in the left side of the lower edge. And there are a few hot spots and dark patches right along the very edges (correspond to where the LED lighting is/isn't).

But they're all very slight. This is one of the more uniform IPS screens I've seen (including on Macs). Congrats on winning the panel lottery.

in real I couldn't even see that now that you have mentioned it I can see them lol

do you think iv I return it I could probs get a better screen?
