[SOLVED] MacBook Pro has virus? malware?

My friend has a MacBook Pro and it has recently been slow and many ads have been poping up everywhere. Its almost impossible to even go on the internet. It says it is running Mac OS X Version 10.7.5. Do you guys know any good free antivirus or malware removal that we could download? If that won't work would just factory resetting it work?

Factory resetting it (reformating) would definatly solve the problem. Even if you used anti virus theres a good chance it would detect it or atleast all of them. A factory reset will delete everything and replace the OS with good clean files
