Macbook Pro retina 13 inch 3 montior connections

I have a Macbook Pro retina 13 inch connected to 2 external monitors through a DVI to thunderbolt. (Which takes up the 2 display ports on my mac) I wanted to ask if you can connect another monitor through a DVI to HDMI to the HDMI port on the Mac. I just tried this, and nothing displayed?

Is this the early 2015 model? Do you know the gpu? If it's just intel then 3 total monitors is the max which includes the laptop monitor itself. You can use a usb adapter although they may lag. Maybe get bigger monitors instead of more?
