[SOLVED] Macbook Pro won't recognize HDD

I can't boot into my main HDD, if I do, it shows a file icon with a question mark on it.

Try to boot into Recovery Mode - When you start the machine, press CMD+R - if that doesn't work, your hard drive is dead.

Take the drive out, put it into an external USB enclosure and plug it into the MacBook. Start it and hold option key after you hear the chime. Hold it until you get a screen with an orange icon and select it and hit enter. If it boots normally it is not your hard drive, it is the SATA cable which is cheap and easy to replace.

The computer recognizes the HDD in disk utility. I repaired the HDD but no results. All I need is for it to boot into the drive.

I've told you what to do to determine very easily if it is your drive or cable. Cables fail all the time and is actually one of the most common problems with these MacBooks. Up to you if you don't want to try what I suggested but it is the quickest way to find out if it is the drive or not. If it doesn't boot via USB then either the drive is dead or your OSX is corrupt.
