Greetings,

I would kindly like to request some help with installing some drivers on a machine with no OS.

I have a desktop with the following configuration:
Super Micro Computer's X10DAC motherboard with Dual Xeon E5-2637 V2Processors, 15MB Cache
nVidia Quadro K2000 with 2GB GDDR5 SDRAM memory
256GB SSD Drive for the OS
LSI 3008-IR SAS Controller with 4 10K RPM SAS Drives

However the manufacturer did not install an OS or any drivers.

I at the very least I need to install the LAN drivers so that I can image the machine from the Network to Windows 7 using Microsoft MDT process and PE boot media.

I would kindly like to request some assistance on how to install the LAN Drivers (which I have obtained from Super Micro Computer's website; perhaps using a flash drive and some free tools like Knoppix Live CD). Right now the machine is not assigning an IP when I run ip config from Command prompt.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Sayeed

P.S. does any one know if the LSI 3008-IR is compatible with Microsoft bitlocker, The SAS Drives need to be configured with RAID 10.

Solution
The drivers are not installed on the system, but in the operating system environment that will be boot. If you are preparing to deploy through MDT, you need to import the drivers for your network card into the MDT driver store and ensure that they are selected for your boot image (in the properties of your deployment share). Make sure you update the deployment share to generate new boot media, and that if you are booting with PXE you update the image files in WDS or your PXE server with that newly generated media. This is covered here in the Deploy a Windows 8.1 Image using MDT 2013 page on the TechNet Library.
1. Before you can boot from lan, you need a working image, so install Windows sysprep mode, then add drivers etc as you would do if installing a home pc etc and then image.

2. Once you have an image, you can PXE off the network to reinstall.

3. Bitlocker will work with the LSI as it is a software based encryption that also works with a TPM.

I just noted your P.S. You will also need to include the drivers for the LSI storage controller in the WinPE image to ensure that the storage array can be seen and the image applied.

BitLocker is effectively volume encryption, so it is essentially compatible with any disk that can be seen in Windows. If you desire to use a TPM, you will need to ensure a TPM module is connected to the TPM header on your motherboard. Without a TPM, you will need to use a USB authentication. See the BitLocker Drive Encryption Overview here on the TechNet Library.
