Hello team,

Hope you are doing well!

It may sound strange but I have an issue where the machine doesn't start at all when I power on. I have apply lot of spit on the PSU at the point where the PSU cable meets the PSU. After that it works without any problem once started.

But next day I have to again apply the same process. I have been doing this process for 2 months now but don't know what is causing. What could be the reason for this?

Why does apply spit to the PSU makes it start but not without it.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks so much! :)

Solution
Keep spitting on it, and you might find that a 9v battery on the tongue to be a lot less painful in comparison to what that PSU can provide ;)

Thanks :D but are you sure PSU is the problem? I have not faced any issue so far. Just that I have used a lot of spit already ;) I will replace the PSU and see tomorrow.

Not facing an issue? You're spitting on a power supply to start up a PC. You're darn well facing a power-related issue.

"The outlet in my kitchen works just fine; I just have to put out a fire every time I use it."
"Except for that, we had a thoroughly lovely evening at Our American Cousin."
"There's nothing wrong with my car except for the fact that it's burning a quart of oil every 100 miles."
"Yeah, the patient has no pulse, is not breathing, and has no brain activity, but is absolutely fine otherwise."

So sarcastic! haha I love your answer. I get the point. I will replace the PSU tomorrow and see. One question - is it possible to repair the PSU by taking it to Corsair shop? (I have Corsair PSU)

or do I have to simply throw it now?

It would cost far more to repair a PSU than it costs for a new PSU.

Hello,

It looks like changing the PSU did not help and it was just my illusion. I found more time to find out what is happening and found that basically if the computer stays idle for few hours (not turned on for few hours) and then I turn on it won't turn on until I have to repeatedly turn off the main switch and then turn on and keep doing this until it will start up.

Once it starts up then I press ON and OFF switch of my computer and it works smoothly. Looks like some component may be damaged. Any ideas what could cause this?

You sure it's not the actual power switch on the case itself? Have you attempted to short two POWER SW pins on the motherboard directly?

You can purchase a new cable cheap for testing if you want. Link below

Thank you so much for replying. I can try shorting but I do not have enough knowledge on how to do that. Could you explain please may be some youtube video or likewise?

Thanks so much!
