Anyone else have these problems, I've tried 10 different times and it just continually fails to create the recovery USB. First time I thought, oh, maybe I need to reformat the USB, nope, constant failures. I just want it to work the way it's supposed to, is that too much to ask?

What error message does it give? I just created a DVD with that, and it works just fine.

Here's the log, one of the problems is nonsense because it's formatted Fat32 and it keeps prompting me to reformat it as well.

I uninstalled it and reinstalled it and this is what I still get.... "One or more PE Environment files failed to copy to the USB device" Also I notice the time is incorrect in this log, it's 5-ish AM here.

Honestly don't know what the problem was, the USB is a 16gb drive, it's the smallest one I have, but for some reason it just didn't like it. It did work and I did test the DVD, but I would have rather had the USB. It's a mystery to me, but not a very compelling one.

One that's really strange is, I have a drive partition I created the backup on, it has 1.4-ish TB on it, the only file on it is the Marcium backup which claims it's 550-ish GB, yet it's taking up more than 1.1TB space on the drive. I want to copy it to an external drive for secondary backup and maybe upload it to the cloud for a 4th total location. But the bigger the file the longer the transfer.

Anyone ever have that happen? The file seems to take up more room on the drive than the actual size of the file, if it was only a 10-20% difference I'd chalk it up to just being strange, but it's taking up about twice the space it claims the file is.

EDIT: Nevermind, just rebooted and now the file and the space used on the partition are both accurate. Had to reboot to test it and boom that's what it was. I did leave the default setting of medium compression but maybe when it creates it uses the full size to determine if the file is going to fit and then compresses it so it takes up less room than what was allocated? Dunno, either way it's displaying correctly now.

Ok this is interesting, I have a Corsair 550D case, when I plugged in my external hard drive and started to copy the file from the HDD partition to my external drive, it's a USB 3.0 and so are both ports. The port I had it plugged into seemed to be fairly slow, I canceled the transfer and moved the USB over to the one next to it and it was suddenly 3-4 times faster transfer rate. Both of those ports use the same connection to the motherboard and the same USB 3.0 header. Might be a bad port.

Why is that interesting? Because the one that seems slower is the one I was using the USB stick to create restore media. Might have to get a new part from Corsair.
