I have just created a bootable USB from Macrium Reflect.
Problem. I had a 16G USB stick. After creating the bootable USB it is now only 0.99G. Used 691 meg, free 328 meg. What gives here? It said it needed to be formated first so I said OK.

If you're using Windows OS, open up Disk Management and pass on a screenshot of what you're seeing for your USB drive. For the sake of relevance, include the OS you're on and the make and model of your USB drive.

Moved thread from Work & Education section to Storage section.

Sorted. I went into disk managment. It had partitioned it but not formated the other. Strange thing though.

I used to find disk managent in older windows in control pannel. It used to be Device manager -> Disk manager. That seems to have gone unless disk manager has been moved somewhere else in control pannel (classic)

Okay. I have created a boot USB and I have created an image.
E:\Macrum\2025-05-21\2831F546E1F186E6-00-00.mrimg

However when I launch the computer with the USB and macrum, I can't proccess the file. It seems it only accepts ico and not mring.

I can locate the E: drive [Macrum-2.jpg] but the folder macrum is not available in [Macrum-3.jpg]

Macrum-1.jpg does show the folder but there is a red X against it. It is showing a windows setup on my E: drive but windows is not on there. Windows is on C:\. Can't understand this.

In creating the backup Image, what was it an image of? Your C drive?

Where, specifically, did you tell it to save to?

I can't as you can see from my screen shots. I can see the file but can not click on it.
http://desmond-otoole.co.uk/Macrum-1.jpg clearly shows a red X against it.

Maybe this is one for Macrum if there is any support out there.
In that space where you're trying to select a 'file', instead select "All folders".
Then, in the rightside pane, you should see the actual Image files.

Thats what it does in mine.
