I have picked parts for a custom made gaming pc. I think this is a good combination. My budget is 700$, and I am just a casual gamer, nothing too serious. Please help me improve this build. Any suggestions to improve it would be very helpful. Also suggestions for any additional fans in the case would be great as heat is a great problem with gaming pcs.

Why? Because 100% of benchmarks show that the i3 6100 is MUCH, MUCH better than ANY amd chip for most games. the X4 is "4 core" but actually two module, meaning it shares floating point units (half of what games are is floating point values!) between two "cores", while the i3 does the opposite and has 2 real cores but 4 floating point units (and about double the IPC). Just read reviews and you'll see why the i3...

If ur looking to game at 1080p then u will have to cut down on settings and dont expext 60fps on majority of the games how ever u will be able to play all the games at 'decent' settings.

I need advice on what case and optical drive to get.
Do I need to get an aftermarket cpu cooler for this cpu or shall I use the stock one that comes with it. Thanks

Just as shitty, just in different ways.

1) Don't get a h110 unless you absolutely never want to upgrade ram
2) Your power supply is horrible, use the one I listed, it's cheaper at purchase time and MUCH better
3) Understand that for some games that are still mostly single threaded the 6500 will be significantly slower than the i3 6100 due to that 20% frequency difference.

processor should be no problem with the gpu so no bottlenecking and the RAM 16gb is very fast DDR4

Again, for a build of that price you should avoid shitty power supplies! If you don't want to spend more money, replace the memory with http://pcpartpicker.com/product/4vWrxr/gskill-memory-f42400c15d16gvr and then get http://pcpartpicker.com/product/DPCwrH/seasonic-power-supply-ssr550rm

If you want higher graphics performance, drop the dvd drive and get http://pcpartpicker.com/product/pbL7YJ/evga-geforce-gtx-1060-6gb-gaming-video-card-06g-p4-6161-kr , the 1060 tends to be a reasonable amount faster in most games

Ok man I agree with the power supply. I will go with the one u linked but for the RAM both are the same except the one I chose is DDR4-3200 and the one u linked is a DDR4-2400 so how is it better as the one I chose is quicker. Please explain. Also for the video card I am not sure 😀

Who ever said better? I said you should get a better POWER SUPPLY by sacrificing the memory if needed. The jump from 2400 to 3200 in games is practically negligible anyway, maybe one or two frames per hundred fps.

As for video card http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/nvidia-geforce-gtx-1060-pascal,4679-3.html . The 1060 is better in everything but "ashes of the boken benchmark", or at least ties with the 480 (on AMD sponsored games)

Sorry about that now I get what you were talking about. I have swapped some stuff and this is how I am going to keep it. Please suggest a cheap nice looking case with no side panel as the case is the only thing left to choose and I can't seem to find anything good.

Forgot to complain about the motherboard! With the H110 you CANNOT overclock at all. Without overclocking the 6600K is only about 10% faster than the 6500 (and 0% in most games) for about 40% higher price (since you need a cooler too). Are you sure you want that CPU and mobo combo? Again, cheaper memory and dropping the optical drive will let you buy a cheap z170 board so you can overclock!

Also, why the hell are you suddenly in GBP?

I agree, DDR4 2400 will suffice more than enough.
Honestly, I'd just get a i5 6500.
The i5 6600k is worth the price if you are willing to design your system around it to be able to overclock, but I wouldn't do that without knowing how to properly overclock and what to keep in mind while doing that.

Bro this adds up to 950 pounds which is too much. I am just a casual gamer and I want a good pc where I can play most singleplayer and multiplayer games at pretty good graphics and decent fps rate with no lag, and smooth operating system for normal multi-tasking and for editing, recording, and browsing. I want the pc to cost no more than 800 pounds with operating system included so I can get a pretty good 24inch full HD with HDMI monitor and a decent mechanical keyboard as I already have a pretty good gaming mouse and headset,or maybe a good gaming mouse and keyboard deal (combo) would be good. Everything to round up to 1000 pounds, no more. Thanks 😀
I don't know how to overclock and I don't think I will as I probably won't be doing anything extreme so I think if I go with the i5 6500 processor will be good

Will the AMD Athlon X4 6400 3.7GHz Quad-core processor not be better than the i3 as it is quad-core but not dual core as the i3. Please explain why u think the i3 is better or what processor shall I go for. Thanks.
