Is there any truth to the "Made for AMD" from the G.Skill Trident Z Neos?

Trident Z Neo

G.Skill Ripjaws V

Both are listed at the same DDR4-3600MHz CL16-19-19-39 1.35V

I don't particularly care about the RGB, so if that's all I'm actually paying for I would probably go with the Ripjaws.

There's also the Crucial Ballistix that clock in at DDR4-3600MHz CL16-18-18-38 for even less money than the Ripjaws.

Or are these all functionally the same?

Worth mentioning this is going with the new AMD 5000 series CPU on a x570 Tomahawk or TUF Gaming x570-Pro. Whichever comes in the door first.

Thanks

The Neo's use Samsung B-die, which is about as good as it gets for performance and compatibility with Ryzen cpus.

Depending on the model, the RipJaws can use Samsung B-die, D-die, or SkHynix ic's, and the SkHynix historically had the worst compatibility with Ryzens until the Agesa updates, so it's possible (unlikely at this point, but still possible) that there 'might' be an issue with the RipJaws.

Crucial Ballistix generally end up with Samsung D-die, E-die, Z-die or SkHynix.

If you figure the Neo's have a 0.01% chance of incompatibility, the rest edging towards 1%, that doesn't sound bad at all, on the surface. Until you figure that there's Millions of sticks made with those ic's per year, and even 1% gets to be a substantial...

'MADE for amd'? (note the emphasis) Yeah, pretty much could claim that, 'manufactured SPECIFICALLY for amd' is a whole different story.

You can check the support section of the motherboard and under that you'll find memory QVL and search for the part number ofcourse 'made for amd' will work but I'm talking about non advertised amd memory, from the above mentioned ram get the 3600 CL 16 it would be overall faster.
