Mafia II neither launch from the exe nor the launcher

Hello!

Mafia II won't launch any more.
The loading cursor appears then nothing happened, I've tried launching it from mafia2.exe and launcher.exe, but in vain.

My PC Specs:
intel Core i5 3570K 3.4GHz
intel HD 4000
G.skill 4GB RAM 1600MHz
Antec 550W PSU
ASUS P8Z77-V LX
Seagate 1TB HDD
Samsung SyncMaster S23B370H
Windows 8 Pro 64-bit

Is it an isolated incident with just Mafia II?
If so, you may find better luck in the Software section of the forums.
