I'm in Lithuania, Eastern Europe.
I'm a student. This monitor will be used at home (with everything what is used at home: office, web, games, movie watching, and software development).
My limit would be about 800-900 US dolars.
I can't use internet to buy. My dads work buys the monitor and we get 18 % back of the price (VAT)
prices in the local shops:
CTX PV720 - 3117 Lt = 780 $
iiYama As4314US - 3266 Lt = 817 $
Mag Ay765 - 3246 Lt = 812 $
Samsung SyncMaster 171S - 3444 Lt = 861 $
NEC MultiSync LCD1700L - 3570 Lt = 893 $
I know the prices are high here.

I have a geforce 2 MX400 now only analog (vga), but in about 3 weeks I think will change it to radeon 8500
Edited by Edvardas on 02/16/02 12:33 PM.

Thing us that none of those monitors would rly be fit for gaming, or anything rly intensive, since they aren't exactly the newest, and the specs aren't that great.

Only if you let me see the Umpa Lumpa- Homer Simpson.

What do you mean by realy intensive???
my mostly played games ere warcraft2, starcraft, dune2 and some logic puzzles. No Quake or any other FPS or racing games. just plain old games(I like them more because you can see, to be more precise feel the story, withuot any distractions due to the too prety grafix).
The main reason of chainging my monitor, 1 or 2 year old Vestel (who produces I dont know, works best with W98 drivers for standart monitor 1280*1024@75), and it is going crazy. Some times you work and the monitor turns off for 5-10 sec. Or doesnt get back from soft-off (Move the mouse and type some text, if word is open, pres the power button twice and you see the typed text). The best resolution I got I recieve at 1024*768@75 and 16 bit, anything over this mark and monitor doesn't show anything (on the box it said 1280*1024@75). I dad bought it so I worked with it until now.

Also, w/ response times of 50ms, DVD and movies won't look good due to ghosting...I think 50ms is too high. When u move ur mouse there will be ghosting! If u can get a good deal online, wouldn't u consider trying it?
