Magi in Government

Given the number of people who Awaken, doesn't it seem likely that
many of them would hold government jobs? And be loyal to them, first
and foremost? I suppose I'm thinking of Orphans, tho there could
certainly be Traditionalists who believe it's their duty and
responsibility to use their gifts for their country. Imagine a Secret
Serviceman, or just a secretary, who takes the time to discreetly
place wards against influence in the Oval Office every day...

Of course, this would also express itself somewhat selfishly...I can
easily imagine lone sorcerers or like-minded Cabals within the various
government branches, parties and departments, using rite and rote to
help their political causes and hinder those of their rivals. If two
opposing Cabals become aware of each other, things could get downright
ugly...

I'm surprised no Mage book (to my knowledge) has ever expounded on
these possibilities. There could be a whole book dedicated to this, we
could call it _Fear and Loathing on the Road to Ascension_!^__^

Such people would be relatively likely to be spotted and recruited
(or driven into hiding) by the Technocracy since government is the
thing the NWO keeps the closest eye on.

There is another factor of course: once you realise how false the world is
(or are enlightened or realise how much power you have or...), how can you
stand to be around so many petty-minded people with closed-off minds? I
think the only ones who would try to stick it would be those of a
technocratic mindset anyway - at which point, yes they would likely be
recruited by said faction.

And NWO has eyes everywhere :) let's not go too far :) there are positons
and places that could be overlooked...

That's more of a problem... on the other hand there is always the fact that
some mages remain quite down to the ground... for either too long... or
almost forever...

What would be more interesting though is mages introducing a new form of
government... and then seeing how well it could hold up against pettiness
and the stupidity of the small average human minds...

They tried that. It was called democracy.

Bureaucratic corruption is the paradox backlash.

Well, if you listen to some Technocrats, anyway.

You mean it IS called democracy :)

Maybe a meritocracy could work better... or maybe humanity is just a cause
efforts will go into, but never change...

Well. It is possible, yet here in Ukraine there are to many Brujahs left in
our goverment to let the some Aweken to have any of politic influence.

Goverment would never let this book to be printed :-|
