Somebody told me that on here, there was a guy that used to go through
and "screenscrape" ebay, parsing it to find out what sort of prices
were going for various cards. I was wondering if anyone has more
information on that, or a similar program, or had attempted it. I'm
basically trying to create a giant magic singles search engine that can
process decks at a time.

I am curious on why it is not allowed to give pointers to ppl that make a
program like that. I believe the magictraders site used an engine like that,
but not sure. I myself am also interested in a program that can get me the
data on card prices, to see the averages and deviation in prizes.

sorry how is it not possible for someone who uses this group to have
setup such a program?

It's possible for them to set it up. It's not possible for them to do it
*on a newsgroup*, though, and even if it were they'd get nailed for spamming
the second they posted any results. This group is *not* for the discussion
of card prices.
