Magic DVD ripper slow in Win7 with i7-930

I'm just still in testing phases of a new build (see specs below). I use Magic DVD ripper to put my DVD's on my computer. On my XP machine (Q6600 with 4MB RAM) a full length movie can take around 9 minutes. I figured I'd get that way down on this new machine so I tried it out today just for kicks. Tested the same movie on both machines. Took 9 minutes on the XP machine and a little more than that on the W7 machine. Wow was I disappointed. I'm guessing Magic DVD Ripper (v 5.4.2 which is the most recent) has no idea how to make use of the power of this machine. I wrote them a note but haven't heard back yet. Can anyone confirm this and/or suggest some ripping software that can make use of much newer equipment?

Thanks. I didn't say this exactly in my OP but one of the things I like about Magic DVD Ripper is that I can backup a DVD lossless to my HDD. It's not converting it to mpeg or avi (although that's possible). It puts the exact contents of the DVD onto the drive and makes it playable from there. And from there it is possible to create a DVD which would be an exact copy of the original. Do you know if either of your suggestions are capable of that? I couldn't tell from reading about them but it seemed like maybe not.

DVDFab platinum Version 7, can make clone DVD (Exact duplicate) of DVD in DL format (8.5Gb - DVD9) If need to compress to fit on 4.7Gn - DVD5 this also does it, quickly mind you. with my pentium D820 it would take 15 minutes to compress and save image to drive and then 6 minutes to write back. With My AMD Phenom II X4 955 it drops down to 8 Minutes to compress and about 4 minutes to write back, If the Disc has already been "copied" and using the copy it only take 3:35 to copy to HDD and 4 minutes to write back. Windows XP for Intel pentium D 820, 2Gb ram, AMD system is Windows 7 Ultimate
