Magicolor 2 problem

Hi folks,

I have the QMS Magicolor 2+ color laser printer. Printing was fine until I
got the Replace Belt cartridge, so I replace the belt, registered the
replaced belt on the consumables menu, and now the screen says "Idle" and
printer is online.

However, when I print from Windows XP, the job goes to the printer driver,
sits in the printer queue for, like, 10 seconds, and then just disappears
from the queue, but the printer never received anything, ie. the data LED
doesn't light up, and the printer just sits there. This happens with
anything I print, even a test page from the printer driver.

I didn't change any settings on the computer, the only thing I did was go
through the menus on the printer to register the replaced belt.

Any thoughts?

Have you tried taking the belt out and putting it back in, just in case
its not quite in right, although one would expect an error message if
that was the case.

Have you tried printing a test page direct from the printer rather than
the printer driver on the computer?

Did all that: nothing. Then I remembered I was running a version of Windows,
so I reinstalled the printer driver and everything works fine.
