Mainstream card for a friend's build

So my friend is building a budget PC and I am the one to find a GPU for him. And i can't really find a decent Mainstream GPU. When i do find one, there are no reviews on the GPU. So any suggestions? The build budget is around 400-500$

Without knowing how much other parts going to cost making it even harder to pin point which u that will be more suited to your budget. But if you can give rough estimate how much you can give for GPU alone that would help.

I think an R7 260x would be your best bet, it will probably be around the 110 USD mark. It will be able to manage games like vanilla Skyrim on High-Ultra, and games like BF4 on medium settings.

It's a good value card.
