I have been a very silly boy. I upgraded to windows 10 then as i had just got a new ssd i tried to clone my hdd to the new ssd. Unfortunately i seem to have corrupted the data on both drives as i can't run windows on either of them. I get the blue screen of death with the error code 0xc000000e9 It also says \boot\memtest.exe missing.

Things i have tried.
I made a repair disk from my windows 7 laptop. I did disable the hard drive and select boot from CDrom.

I tried the windows 10 media tool from CD. It wouldn't even access the disk.

I have tried all sorts of other methods but seem to have forgot what i did. If anybody can offer any help about how to an OS working with no access to HDD, SSD or any other media i would be most gratefull.

Many times when you clone a Drive to another drive without a proper clone dock or good software many Windows locked files get left behind. If you can get into safe mode then just replace the missing files, but since memtest.exe is missing you might as well reinstall Windows because more than likely safe mode isn't going to work.

Thanks for the rapid response. For some reason i could not get access to any cdrom or usb media. I tried a win 7 repair disk, ubuntu and all sorts of other things but this morning i found a disk that i had a download of ubuntu on it so gave it a go and now i am currently installing it so i hope to be over the worst of it now. Only 2 1/2 days latter. We live and learn eh. Thanks again for the response.

(update) I managed to get access to the dvdrom when i previously couldn't so i installed ubuntu and on my laptop i got a torrent of windows 7, insatalled that on the SSD then added my genuine windows code. All back running nicely. Only four days of messing about. What a relief.
