major gta v bug only when using hdmi

I brought my computer to my moms to hook up to her tv and play gta v with my little brother. 90% of the textures arent loading and almost all of the screen is black except for the character and car models.

I have tried every refresh rate and restarting the game, and have the newest drivers from amd for gta v. I have spent an hour messing with it and really dont want to have hauled my computer to my moms for nothing, and miss out playing this with my brother. My graphics card is an msi 6970 lightning. I played the game for over 5 hours at my house no problems over dvi.

Have you tested it with another monitor?

Can you try another game to see if it is happening in JUST GTA 5? How about non-gaming stuff... can you run perhaps just a GPU stress test and/or CPU stress test? Possibly the computer isn't getting enough power from the wall there

Yes i played arma 3 1080p 60hz just fine. This is why i am stumped. It is only gta.

I think i solved iy myself, or at least i narrowed it down enough to figure out how to fix it shortly. I changed every graphics setting to low and it works fine. I will mess with it some to figure out which specific setting it is, i would guess its a shader setting right now. Thanks.

It is amd chs soft shadows that causes the problem. I use it fine over dvi at my house but it breaks the game over hdmi on my 6970. Thanks for the responses guys.

I still have other similar but more minor bugs only over hdmi, but at least they arent game breaking. Annoying though.

Interesting. I wouldn't expect in-game settings to conflict with only specific outputs. Thanks for providing an update after figuring it out

Ya i know. It seemed really really strange to me. I am kind of expecting it to do the same thing when i bring the computer home and hook it up over dvi for some unknown reason now.

Try to change the settings to low. Quit the game. Restart your pc . again open the game check the game is working correctly in low settings or not. If working , change it to settings according to you
