Major Sound Card Issue Please Help

I am at a loss for words. My wife got me a new case, psu, and EVGA GTX 780 Classy for Christmas/birthday and I was pumped. I took apart my old case and set up the new one. Booted it up and everything was fine, until I ran into this huge headache which I really cannot figure out. For some reason, even though my sound card is getting power and lights up, Windows will NOT recognize it as being plugged in. I have tried 2 different ports and neither of them fixed the issue. I have tried uninstalling every sound driver there is on my computer and it still won't detect the card. Does anyone know what could possibly be wrong at this point? If the card was dead it would not receive power correct? Also, I should point out that I did in fact disable the onboard sound, but even when the onboard sound was enabled this was happening.
I should also mention that I am running Windows 7 and I have a Asus Sabertooth z77 mobo.
If anyone can give me some suggestions it would be greatly appreciated.

LED lighting up on card doesn't mean much, another part could be dead. Since you did the driver install and reinstall and it didn't do anything, it's probably a good idea to get a replacement.

Did you also try a different PCI slot? Probably won't do anything but it's worth a shot.

The fact that your sound card is lighting up doesn't prove that it actually works. If I'm understanding you correctly, the card isn't showing up in the Windows device manager at all, and you've tried it in different slots? It's pretty certain that the card has failed if this is the case.

Is it possible that my PCI E slots got turned off somehow on my z77? Could that be the cause of it? I have a Creative Sound Blaster Recon3d Pro. I just don't understand how it randomly died sitting on my desk..... FFS

If your PCIe slots can be deactivated, there will be an option in the BIOS to turn them on or off. I didn't consider this possibility because you normally have to manually change this setting: I've never seen it happen spontaneously.

And the likely time of death of your card was when you were inserting or removing it during the case swap. I doubt that it happened while sitting on your desk.

First this isn't online support, so do NOT bump a post just because no one responded immediately.

Second there is alot of things this can be inclusive to the Creative died (it getting power, which is generating heat and wear and tear over the metal wiring, overtime it degrades till it 'dies'). So lets go over the basics

A) Turn back on all the settings you turned off in BIOS, or better yet, simply power off and unplug power from the PC. Remove the watch battery, wait 10 min. Plug in batter then power and power on, you are not BIOS default settings.
B) Orb > Control Panel > Hardware > Sound : DOES the creative LIST under Playback at all?
C) If no, then ORB > Right Click Computer > Manage; is it listed under device manager? Select View at the top and Show Hidden, is it there now? Is there any unknown listed?

IF the card does show in the Sound panel right click on it and set it as default device. Does it show any output (when playing music, MP3, online radio, etc.) on the panel 'LED' readout to the right?
